That night was devastating as was the entire situation. Losing someone so young in such a horrific way brought out an array of overwhelming feelings in everyone. Though the reporter for Newsday paints a sweet picture of the in-laws and a rather disturbing one of Laura's mother. How can you expect someone to behave at their daughter's funeral, days after finding out what seemed as a surreal report that a fire had taken her life had become a sex-murder scandal? The whole thing unraveled at alarming rates and triggered everyone into anger at the potential man has for hurting others and even at God for taking such a young, beautiful and intelligent girl. Aside from the anger, it was severe depression on all sides. The in-laws had lost the new addition to their family and my god mother had lost her only child. Part of me still can't believe it happened. My heart breaks and I empathize with anyone who watches the news and is connected to a victim. Loss is difficult to handle but severe circumstances and in the media spotlight, it becomes madness. I am a free lance consultant and travel extensively. Not once have I been satisfied with expedia. Let me tell you something...Expedia does NOT make booking travel easier, you never really know (for sure) that your flight has been booked and even if they screw up...good luck getting a refund. I have to tell you that after months of frustration I came across a website/company that is cheaper than expedia over 67% of the time. They have great customer service and even have "live" help and a free "concierge" service. I will NEVER EVER go back to expedia or travelocity. It is just not worth it. From my experiance...Expedia better stop spending over 800 million dollars on advertising and spend it on customer service or they are going to loose a huge market share to this new player that entered the market in 2005. We disagreed on something and I did not feel like allowing myself to get into an irrational state of mind and fight over the topic. I handled it the wrong way by giving her the cold shoulder and I apologized and will continue to do so probably for the rest of the day. I explained to her that I was not right and that I should have told her that I love her and held her in bed ... but I was a dope. She means the world to me and the only people in my life who can rival her for my affection are my kids, my parents and my sister. Well look forward to reading more of my stupidity in the future, because while I can love very deeply I am also a guy and pretty dopey sometimes.
